Learning Outcomes:

This term we have been learning how to play some new songs on the keyboard, guitar, ukulele and the bucket drums.

We learnt to play the song “Sunflower” using chords on the ukulele.

We also learnt how to read guitar tab and we played “Eye of the Tiger”.

On the keyboard we learnt how to play a song in 2 parts where you either had to use both hands.

The instrument I enjoying playing the most is…

Learning goals:

• To hook the reader in with an interesting beginning
• A variety of sentence starters

As I suddenly start flying upwards like a jet taking off I wonder if I made the right decision to go to level 3? Faintly I see the runners put the rope on the post suspending me 13 meters above the ground. As I am held at this height my knuckles start pushing harder and harder into my neck as my arms weaken and give way.

I prepare for the drop and then fall for what seemed like a minute but in reality was only 2 seconds as my stomach dropped faster than I did. After starting to swing rather than free fall it began to feel more fun and I wanted it to keep going.

Once the swing had become very small I had to stop and get off so that someone else can go while the others pull the rope. Because I was shaking like mad I didn't help much for the next 3 people.

In my opinion I think it's good if you get two turns but I don't think it is worth it for one.

I think that this was a good piece of writing and It flows quite well  and that I have done my goal of linking paragraphs well in this but I think I could have made it better by editing it more but I couldn't find any points that I thought needed editing.

WEEK 5 REFLECTION

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

We coded the walls and the rest of Pac-Alex's movements so he can't go through the walls.

What challenges did I have?

We had to borrow the code off Ben to make it not be able to touch the walls because it's much harder than we thought.

What am I going to work on next week?

We are going to find some costumes for the ghost and make them go for Pac-Alex but not go through the walls

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

I found 13 new things I could make and I am making one so I can put a video on the slides.

What challenges did I have?

That I ran into a lot of things I already had on the list so I had to try searching different things.

What am I going to work on next week?

I am going to get some backgrounds on the slides and a few more photos and info if needed.

WEEK 1 REFLECTION

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

I found 18 machines and have put them on a slideshow with a title and introduction on it.

What challenges did I have?

I didn't have any challenges that I noticed this week but some of the machines might not actually exist.

What am I going to work on next week?

Finding all the machines I have found on another website so that I can be sure that I am making something from real life.

WEEK 5 REFLECTION

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

I learn't how to add in areas of land so that I can make a certain scene like a village or a desert so it seems more natural rather than a flat world.

What challenges did I have?

that it was very hard to tell what you are adding in because it only gives you one way view so it is difficult to see the full terrain you are adding.

What am I going to work on next week?

I am going to try to make the things more in time so that it seems more clear and to not use as much text because each one has a different line and if you have too many it gets really confusing.

How did you go with your passion project this term?  Did you succeed or not?

I did succeed because I found a website with tonnes of information on it and we got 7 slides from it so that is the main reson that we succeeded with our passion project this term.

What were the skills/reasons that helped you succeed?

Being able to write google searches in different wordings because it was only on the 4th try that I found it.

What are the specific skills that you learnt during your passion project?

I didn't learn any skills because it was a passion project just about learning information on rockets not actually to learn a skill.

What are you most proud of with your passion project?

The presentation because I think that it came out really well.

SYMMETRY

Explain what you now know about symmetry.  Try and use mathematical words to explain.

Symmetry is if you can basically cut a shape in half and it will be the opposite on one side from the other.

ROTATION/REFLECTION/TRANSLATION

Explain what you know about rotation…

Rotation means to spin the shape around a certain amount of degrees.

Reflection Means to draw a line and for it to be the opposite on the other side of the line.

Explain what you know about translation….

Translation means to slide the same shape a certain distance up, down,  to the right or to the left.

TESSELLATIONS

Explain what a tessellation is…

A repeating pattern that goes on for a long time exp tiles.

REFLECTION

What are you most proud of with you geometry learning this term?

Nothing because I learnt this in year 3 so it is really easy for me.

Why?

Because this was like year 3 again for me.

What was the most challenging with our geometry learning?

The tessellations.

Why?

Because I hadn’t learnt it before but it was still very easy.

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

We finished our slides and added two slides that are links to the research and a video of a rocket launch.

What challenges did I have?

Finding a good video of the launch.

What am I going to work on next week?

There may not be a next week for work.

Name 3 things you learnt at Science in a Van?

I didn't really learn anything at science in a van because I already knew everything they were teaching us but the chair of nails was intresting to watch.

Sir Izzac Newton

What did you find interesting about Science in a Van

The lmp bottle rocket because it use's the third law of motion witch is for every action there had to be an equal and opposite reaction.

What was the best joke the presenters told?

Steve's natral habitat (KFC bucket)

What Learning did you find challenging this week?

I don't know because I haven't really learnt much this week because I already knew most of the stuff and it was just a matter of practising it but I guess that

How did you use a growth mindset to overcome these learning challenges?

I don't know because I haven't really learnt much this week because I already knew most of the stuff and it was just a matter of practising it.

What is the piece of the work you are most proud of this week?

Winning a game in maths time that involved adding the numbers on cards.

Why are you proud if it?

Because people were getting the answers about half of a second after they saw the cards.


I cannot add any evidence because it was in the other classrooms for maths an they didn't record the games because it was mainly just for fun.

WEEK 9 REFLECTION

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

We got some more images on the slides and added transactions to all of them witch look nice and I think we've got some music that suits the theme.

What challenges did I have?

That most of the music we found we could not use for the slides because it did not suit the information on rockets.

What am I going to work on next week?

I guess trying to get some more info on what shape helps.

WEEK 8 REFLECTION

What Learning did you find challenging this week?

Ratios in math's because I forgot how to do it at the start of the week.

How did you use a growth mindset to overcome these learning challenges?

I remembered later in the week when Mr. Henderson told us again because I had just forgotten and I remembered how to do it once we went over it once.

What is the piece of the work you are most proud of this week?

The ratios in math when I was the only person to get the last question right.

Why are you proud if it?

Because I was the only person in my group to get the last question right and I am a year younger than anyone else in my group because I go up to the year 7/8 classes for math's.

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

We did not achieve much this week because we couldn't find a useful website to use for info but we still got some photos in.

What challenges did I have?

Not finding any websites with useful information because we had already used all the info on the useful site and Ben added 47 new slides when I asked him to add one so I had to delete those.

What am I going to work on next week?

I think we need to work on the presentation because we can't find a website to use.

What Learning did you find challenging this week?

Trying to get the lowest number possible in math and I over complicated it and didn't even get the lowest number.

How did you use a growth mindset to overcome these learning challenges?

I just laughed at it because it was a bit silly not to try a simpler method.

What is the piece of the work you are most proud of this week?

Passion project.

Why are you proud if it?

Because this week we got about 5 slides done on rockets.

We got the introduction and first information slide done which is about the engines.

What challenges did we have?

The first three websites didn't have anything useful on them but then I found a useful one.

What are we going to work on next week?

What Learning did you find challenging this week?

Math because I kept on getting the long division questions wrong. 

How did you use a growth mindset to overcome these learning challenges?

I kept doing them and I got it right

What is the piece of the work you are most proud of this week?

The paper chain because I found out a sort of cheaty strategy but the teacher approved.

Why are you proud if it?

Because I was the only person that thought outside of the box.(or should I say chain)

I cant add evidence because we aren't allowed to touch the chains until this afternoon
